Goals
The ultimate goal of the EMCC is to stimulate local, scenario-based training. The EMCC strives to achieve this goal by:

demonstrating how competence in various areas of EM can be developed through scenario-based training

providing templates for scenarios tailored to developing specific competences

entitling course instructors to run the course locally

providing material for local, scenario-based training
Requirements
The EMCC strives to preserve the quality and identity of the course without imposing unnecessary hurdles for course directors. Course directors need to meet the following requirements to offer the EMCC:

The course director needs to have been a course instructor at a prior EMCC

The course instructors recruited by the course director need to have been course participants at a prior EMCC and should be specialists or senior residents in EM

There should be ≥ 4 instructors for an EMCC course of ≤ 12 participants, ≥ 5 instructors for courses with 13-18 participants, and ≥ 6 instructors for courses with 19-24 participants

Each course participant needs to receive the latest version of the checklist compendium on day 1 of the course.Contacting the local printer in Lund, Sweden (media-tryck@service.lu.se) is the cheapest way to order the checklist compendium

Only EMCC scenarios may be used during the EMCC.Instructors may modify the lectures, as long as the teaching messages are conveyed

The course should include 2 resuscitation stations, 2 likelihoods & decisions stations, 2 procedure stations, the EKG station, the acid-base station and the neurology station
At the Discretion of the Course Director

The course director has full discretion regarding whom to recruit as fellow course instructors

The course director has full discretion regarding enrollment of course participants

The course director has full discretion regarding course venue and equipment used.After having taken and taught at the course, the course director will have a good sense as to what equipment is required for the course to reaches its objectives

The course director has full discretion regarding the financial aspects of the course, including how much to charge the course participants and whether the instructors receive remuneration.The course is nonprofit

The course director gets to choose which procedures to include in the course among a menu of procedures

The course director gets to choose the nature of 2 of the 11 stations in the course, i.e. whether to add a third resuscitation station, a third procedure station, an orthopedic station, an organization station or a communication station
EMCC Course Material

The EMCC course material is made available to course instructors and course directors via Google Drive
-
The course material may be used within the context of local EM resident training but not under other circumstances; for example, the EMCC course material may not be used within the context of another course
