The EMCC teaches a structured EKG interpretation according to the OPQRST+ mnemonic.
EKG Scenarios
The EKG station starts off with a structured interpretation of a 12-lead electrocardiograms. The session then links EKG-findings with pathophysiology (e.g. LAD-stenosis, right ventricular strain) and delves into the rationale behind and risks associated with treatments (e.g. why nitrates are risky with right ventricular infarction, or why calcium-channel blockers are dangerous in the setting of atrial fibrillation with pre-excitation).
